Africa-Press – Cape verde. Political instability in the Sahel and artificial intelligence are the topics that will be the focus of the meeting of the International Democratic Centre of Africa (IDC-Africa) to be held in Praia, under the leadership of MpD president Ulisses Correia e Silva.

The event, scheduled for the 8th and 9th of this month, is, according to the secretary-general of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), Luís Carlos Silva, a “significant milestone” in the IDC’s mission to promote democracy, human rights and freedom in Africa.

“The Praia meeting is an event of fundamental importance that brings together political leaders, academics and experts to address critical issues that affect not only our sub-region, but also the African continent as a whole and the world,” said the MpD leader at a press conference today.

Among other aspects, the organization proposes during the work to analyze and expose the political situation in the Sahel region, with a sequence of coups d’état that, according to the MpD, affect not only individual countries, such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Gabon, but the entire continent, exposing the lives of millions of citizens to risk and instability and destabilizing the region and the continent.
