Africa-Press – Cape verde. The vendors give a positive note to the 16th edition of the agricultural fair (FEPASA ), which ended last Sunday , in Porto, with the participation of around 60 exhibitors from all over the island of Santo Antão.
Tereza Neves, from Ribeira da Cruz, who brought mainly agricultural products, said she liked the “great movement of people” during the fair, adding that the sale exceeded her expectations.
“Everything went well. There was a great movement of people and I sold a lot in these three days of the fair”, noted this farmer.
Agricultural producer Octávio Inocêncio, from Chã de Branquinho, also liked the way in which this exhibition of agricultural products took place, stating that, in addition to showing his products to the public (grogue and others), the fair also allowed him to do business.
Farmer Saturnino Rodrigues, from Alto Mira, also gave a “positive note” to the Santo Antão agricultural fair, which, in his view, was “a great show” of agriculture and livestock in Santo Antão, with greater emphasis on Porto Novo, municipality of Santo Antão. which, despite the drought, asserts itself as “a major producer of vegetables”.
However, in terms of crafts, sales fell short of expectations, according to artisan Nelida Rodrigues. The organization of this sixteenth edition of the Santo Antão agricultural fair was promoted by the Porto Novo City Council, which highlighted the importance of this event in “promoting the potential of rural areas and handicrafts” in Santo Antão.
