Africa-Press – Cape verde. Alto Mira’s community spokesman today called it “theft” people are still required to pay the “RTC fee”, in a location without public television signals for five years.
Ederlino Fortes told Inforpress that the population in Alto Mira, in Porto Novo, is “disgusted by this situation”, as he continues to be forced to pay the Radio Televisão Cabo-verdiana (RTC) fee, in a village has been deprived of television signals since 2017.
“There is no signs of RTC in Alto Mira for five years. Even so, people are being forced to pay every month the fee, which we consider a theft. We are disgusted by this situation,” the community representative said.
Porto Novo also has many shadow areas that “soon” will have the coverage Digital Terrestrial Television (TDT), according to guarantees of the Cabo Verde Broadcast (CVB).
According to CVB, the TDT Transmission Centers in the municipality of Porto Novo are in the process to be completed, and should start operating “soon”.
Five new Transmission Centers are under construction in Santo Antão, three of which are in the municipality of Porto Novo to cover areas such as Ribeira Fria, Alto Mira, Chã de Branquinho, Ribeira da Cruz, Martiene, Chã de Norte and Planalto Norte.
