Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Association of Livestock Breeders in Porto Novo, Santo Antão, rejoiced this Saturday with the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment that this municipality will be contemplated with new investments in the livestock sector.
These are investments in two thousand contos in the field of water supply for cattle, which will be implemented until next December in the lower part of the municipality of Porto Novo, (Ribeira de Tortolho), including 18 breeders.
The local association of cattle ranchers was pleased that the delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Porto Novo, Joel Barros, has assured Inforpress that this ministry will continue to invest in solving the water problem for cattle in the lower part of the county.
According to Joel Barros, it will be a second phase of the water supply project to cattle ranchers in Ribeira de Tortolho, which already has secured funding.
So far, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has invested 28,000 escudos in solving the water problem for livestock activity in the lower part of the municipality of Porto Novo, covering 55 cattle ranchers, a number that will be extended still in the course of 2024 to 73 shepherds.
