Africa-Press – Cape verde. Grogue producers in the municipality of Porto Novo continue to bet on the improvement of their manufacturing units, investments have resulted in the production of an “excellent product”, according to Councillor Valter Silva.
This Councillor, who is responsible for the Economic Development area, exemplified with the case of Ribeira da Cruz, where it is currently produced “an excellent grogue”, thanks to the “quality of sugarcane, soil and climate”, but also to the “quality of production units”.
They are “fundamental elements” to guarantee “a good product”, which is still associated with “a genuine production”, explained the Councillor, at a time there is ongoing the industrialization of grogue in this county.
The grogue produced in the municipality of Porto Novo was in December in an exhibition in France, an initiative of the Casa do Grogue at this municipality, which has already exported, since 2018, close to 40.000 liters of the distillate to the European market.
