Africa-Press – Cape verde. All rehabilitated schools in the municipality of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, are “able to start classes in recommendable conditions” from September 18th, the Ministry of Education guaranteed today.
The guarantee was given after a visit this week by the general director of Planning, Budget and Management of the Ministry of Education, Ana Santos, who served to find out about the works carried out in schools and “make sure they are prepared to receive pupils, teachers and the entire educational community”, said the same source.
The Ribeira da Cruz, Jorge Luís, Lajedos and Ribeira de Corujinha schools have been rehabilitated and, according to the ministry, are ready to receive pupils and teachers for the start of the school year on Monday 18th.
The schools in Jorge Luís, Ribeira da Cruz and Ribeira de Corujinha cost the Ministry of Education around 8,000 escudos, while the school in Lajedos was rehabilitated in partnership with the METALO Association (São Vicente) and the City Council of Porto Novo.
