Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Porto Novo City Council inaugurated this Thursday, 20, an 18-meter metallic bridge, which connects the communities of Lagoa and Lajes, in Ribeira das Patas. The structure cost five thousand contos to the city council of Porto-Nove.
The inaugural act was presided over by the mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, for whom it is about “a structuring infrastructure”, which connects Lagoa to Lajes “in a safe way”, especially for children.
The work, measuring 18 meters in length, was “long awaited” by the two communities since, according to this mayor, it facilitates the passage of people and goods between Lagoa and Lajes.
The inauguration of the metal bridge is part of the program of activities commemorating the day of Ribeira das Patas and the parish of São João Paulo II, based in this locality, which is celebrated on 22 October.
