Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Institute of Sports and Youth (IDJ) and the Porto-Noveau municipality have “everything set” for Porto Novo to be declared “Cape Verde’s Youth Capital” in 2023, the councilor responsible for Youth said on Friday.
Nilson Santos, who was speaking at the opening act of the Porto Novo municipal youth meeting, said that between the council and the IDJ it is “everything agreed” for this municipality to host the Cape Verdean Youth Capital event next year.
It will be marked, as he said, by “a wide range of activities” aimed at “empowering young people”.
The municipality promotes every year, in August, in Porto Novo, the Municipal Youth Week, an event with “some reference” at the national level, which is now in its seventh, hence the decision of the IDJ to designate Porto Novo as Cape Verdean youth capital in 2023, said Nilson Santos.
The municipality of Porto Novo is hosting, in recent days, various activities within the Municipal Youth Week, with emphasis on the youth meeting and an ecological walk.
