Africa-Press – Cape verde. Police authorities in the municipality of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, confirmed today the collection, on Friday, 17, of 36 kilos of hashish, near the fishing area of Ribeira Torta. The drug was found by fishermen, who reported the finding to the PN.
The confirmation was given to Inforpress, by the commander of the National Police Station in Porto Novo, Cipriano Bandeira. As he explained, the 36 kilos of hashish were found by a group of fishermen who were fishing in the vicinity of Ribeira Torta.
The fishermen reported the occurrence to the police authorities, who immediately sent the agents to the place to collect the drugs. The National Police will now launch investigations, with a view to finding out the origin of the drug that washed up on the slopes of the municipality of Porto Novo.
