Africa-Press – Cape verde. The city council of Porto said that the public investments that are being implemented in the municipality are generating around 900 jobs in various locations.
Data published by the municipality refer that the program to mitigate the effects of the drought, and the war between Russia and Ukraine, allowed the creation of 523 jobs in the municipality, with works of cleaning the vicinal roads and maintenance of forests.
Also, as part of the program to mitigate the effects of the bad agricultural year, which has been implemented since January, 200 jobs were created in different locations in the municipality, covering families affected by the drought.
Urban requalification
More than 60 people are currently working on urban requalification works in the city of Porto Novo, according to the city council.
Likewise, the projects for water supply and installation of mobile networks in Ribeira Fria and Ribeira dos Bodes are currently generating more than 30 jobs.
On the roads under construction in Planalto Leste and in Chã de Branquinho, 60 heads of families are already employed, the same source said.
