Africa-Press – Cape verde. The residents of Casa de Meio, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, requested this Sunday the lighting of the access road to the town for the safety of people traveling on it at night, Inforpress learned from the local association.
The association leader, Hipólito Lima, confirmed that the lighting of the access road, recently inaugurated, is a concern for the residents of Casa de Meio to allow them to travel on this road safely.
This official had already, at the time of the road’s inauguration, expressed the community’s concern regarding the need for lighting on this road, which was built as part of the program to improve access to towns.
Inforpress learned that the Energy Production Company of Cape Verde (EDEC) is aware of the residents’ concerns and is considering lighting this road to improve the safety of people traveling on it at night.
In addition, the residents of Casa de Meio also want a public square, a health post, and a sports field.
Regarding agriculture, the biggest concern is water mobilization.
