Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Portuguese-Cabo Verdean artist Dino D’Santiago won the Critics and Best Male Artist awards on Thursday night, the 5th, in Lisbon, at the gala of the 4th edition of Play – Portuguese Music Awards.
Dino D’Santiago, as well as Ana Moura, were two of the winners of the night, with two awards each, in this 2022 edition that awarded 13 categories, in which also the singer Euclides, who was born in Cabo Verde and grew up in Portugal, was elected Revelation Artist.
In this edition, in which the fado singer Ana Moura took the titles of Best Female Artist and Best Music Video, alongside André Caniços, Dino D’Santiago was also nominated for the category of Best Album with “Badiu”, but beat Jorge Palma with “70 Voltas ao Sol”.
The Cabo Verdean Nenny, nominated for the category of Best Female Artist, along with Ana Moura, was also nominated in the category of Song of the Year, with “Tequila”, award that the song “Onde Vais” by Bárbara Bandeira and Carminho, won.
