Africa-Press – Cape verde. The second edition of the Laginha Games, taking place from Saturday to Sunday, the 7th, in Mindelo, involves various sports and aims to attract more young people to sports and develop better habits.
This objective was announced to the press by the organizer, Alexandre Francês, who will occupy Laginha beach for two days with a variety of sports.
The second edition of the Laginha Games, under the motto “together for a healthier life,” seeks, according to the same source, to gain the interest of more young people in sports.
And to offer, he added, the greatest number of possibilities, from volleyball, basketball, football, handball, taekwondo, adapted sports, swimming and cycling duathlon, traditional games such as spinning tops, sack races, and various other activities.
Alexandre Francês considered that Laginha beach has all the conditions to host an event of this type more often per year, but now its realization depends on the support of authorities and companies.
The Laginha Games, organized by the company Sport Events, also serves as a test for hosting the world beach volleyball circuit, which brings 32 pairs, both female and male, from various parts of the world to São Vicente.
It takes place from December 11th to 14th, on Laginha beach, promoted by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the Cape Verdean Volleyball Federation (FCV).
