The confirmation was given to the Cabo Verdean press at the end of a meeting with the Head of State Portuguese at the Palace of Belém on the third day of the Prime Minister’s visit to Portugal, with the main objective of participating in the second United Nations Oceans Conference to take place in Lisbon from 27 June to 1 July.
According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, he had the opportunity to reaffirm Cabo Verde’s interest in transforming the debt the archipelago has with Portugal into climate finance, climate capital and natural capital, as a way to afford to invest.
This investment, according to him, should be in the acceleration of energy transition, in the transition to the blue economy, in the viability of water for agriculture, through desalination systems and also in digital transformation and the whole process has to do with the green economy and the blue economy.
