Africa-Press – Cape verde. Producer Djô da Silva promised new musicals release for the next year, the result of deals made at Womex 22 (Worldwide Music Expo), which took place in Lisbon from October 19 to the 23.
To Inforpress, in Lisbon, Djô da Silva said that he rated the participation in Womex 22, announced by two international musical events in Cape Verde, the Atlantic Music Expo (AME) and the Kriol Jazz Festival (KJF) as “good”.
“There was a lot of interest from producers. We continue to see that the music of Cape Verde has been of great interest to the whole world and I think that we did good business for the coming year. We look forward to good news for the next year”, he assured.
On the other hand, the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente, also speaking to Inforpress, considered that Cape Verde’s participation in Womex is “very positive”.
“I congratulate the work that Djô da Silva, Gugas Veiga and the assistants did, on their own initiative, to set up a system of representation of Cape Verde, almost at their own expense (…). In the next event, we should not only be able to expand Cape Verde’s participation, but also increase the quality, because Cape Verde must be better represented”, he stated.
