
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Security of Portugal began a visit to the archipelago today, having planned to travel this morning to the municipality of São Lourenço dos Órgãos to visit the support structures for income-generating activities.
Ana Mendes Godinho, accompanied on this trip by the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, will have the opportunity to find out about the progress of the implementation of the project promoted by SOLMI (Association of Support for Self-Promotion Initiatives) in scope of the cooperation program between the two ministries.
The visit agenda of the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal also includes a visit to the new residence for trainees and trainers in Pedra Badejo (Santa Cruz) to be inaugurated this afternoon and a visit, on the 24th, to the Instituto Cabo -Verdiano da Criança e Adolescente (ICCA).
The inauguration ceremony of the rehabilitation works of the residence building for trainees and trainers in Pedra Badejo, Santa Cruz, will be presided over by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.
The rehabilitation of the residence building for trainees and trainers in Pedra Badejo is part of the project to establish Centers of Professional Excellence in Cape Verde, with the support of the Portuguese Republic.
These centers, according to a press release, are intended to be national references, promoting qualification and excellent professional training and expanding access to professional training, through specific initiatives and the creation of synergies with the Employment Promotion Fund and of Training.
The financing protocol for the rehabilitation works of the residence, worth 45 thousand contos, was initialed in November 2019, within the scope of the 2018-2021 Cooperation program between the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal and the Ministry of Finance of Cape Verde.
