Africa-Press – Cape verde. Portuguese Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, is paying a visit to Cape Verde next weekend, which includes a meeting with his counterpart Ulisses Correia e Silva, his office said today.

In a note to the media, it is stated that the visit will take place on the 20th and 21st of April and will begin with a meeting with the Head of Giverno, at 12:00 pm on Saturday, with the publication of the full program being announced later.

This visit to Montenegro will be his second official trip abroad, after being in Madrid on Monday, where he was received by his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sánchez.

This week, the Portuguese Prime Minister will also participate in his first European Council in Brussels, having scheduled meetings with the President of the Council, Charles Michel, and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, who is a candidate for Secretary General of NATO.

At the previous European Council meeting, between March 21 and 22, António Costa was still prime minister in office and represented Portugal at the summit.

At the end of the month, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will travel to Cape Verde, between April 30th and May 3rd, for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the Tarrafal concentration camp, at the invitation of his counterpart, José Maria Neves.
