Even so, the nation’s highest magistrate considered that “ we still have time to call everyone to reason, so that in a convergent way we can find a way to properly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Amílcar Cabral ”.
Along these lines, he hoped that in 2024 the country could properly celebrate the centenary of the birth of Amílcar Cabral, as an unavoidable figure in the history of Cape Verde, who should be remembered for his enormous contribution to the independence of Cape Verde, from Guinea Bissau. and Portuguese-speaking African countries.

He said he hoped that the country would celebrate in 2033 the 500th anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of Santiago de Cape Verde and in 2036 the 100th anniversary of the Foundation of the Claridoso Movement.
