Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Praia Archaeology Museum will operate at the Ildo Lobo Palace of Culture, in the Plateau, for reasons of centrality and security, said on Tuesday the president of the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), Jair Fernandes.
According to him, the museum where it is located – at the back of the National Archives – “does not have the physical and structural conditions” necessary for thematic exhibitions which the Archaeological Museum is intended to offer to the public, ensuring that this move to the Ildo Lobo Palace of Culture will be completed in the coming weeks.
“At the moment, we are making the provisional transportation of the exhibitions from the Praia Archaeology Museum to the Ildo Lobo Palace of Culture, considering the its centrality, but also for security reasons”, said the president of the IPC, in an interview with Inforpress to look at the year 2022 in terms of cultural projects.
In this sense, he recalled that Minister Abraão Vicente had already announced that the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries is negotiating with a private company for the rehabilitation of a building in the historic center of Praia, in the Plateau, which will be the future Cabo Verde Archaeological Museum, “which assumes that the change for this facility will be provisional”.
