The death of young João “Juary” Barros, in the early hours of today, Sunday, September 3rd, at the Hospital Agostinho Neto, where he was hospitalized, left the neighborhood of Achada Santo António, in the city of Praia, in deep dismay. “Juah”, as he was also known, is remembered as a young man of “great charisma, cheerful, playful, hardworking, loved by all and a fervent supporter of the Travadores team”
“’Juary’ leaves for eternity and leaves a mantle of tears on those who were close with this young man”, is one of the countless expressions of regret that can be read on social networks, in the country and in the diaspora, for the death “ Juary Barros.
“Young people are homeless. May the sudden and unexpected death of Juary, which leaves us all heartbroken, at least have the role of fulfilling a divine purpose within the youth of the community. It is my hope and it can be my consolation”, wrote on her Facebook page, Edna Oliveira, born in the neighborhood of Achada Santo António, currently holding the position of Minister for Modernization of the State and Public Administration.
Fervent supporter of the Travadores
Friends and acquaintances of “Juary” Barros underline that his charisma and personality also stand out in the sports field as a true “Indian”, as the fervent supporters and members of the Travadores da Praia football team are also known.
As they say, alongside other supporters, “Juary” Barros was at the forefront supporting his club, including in the last year in which the Travadores celebrated several achievements, namely the much-desired South Santiago Championship achieved in the last sporting season ( 2022-2023).
