Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of Angola João Lourenço on Sunday began a four-day visit to Cabo Verde, which aims to “elevate and consolidate” existing “excellent relations” and authenticate the strategic partnership between the two countries.
João Lourenço, who arrived this afternoon in Praia, is accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Transport and senior officials of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola, will fulfill an intense visit program in Praia and Mindelo.
The presence of the Angolan President in Cabo Verde “further sets the bilateral relationship and a dimension in line with the long common history, intense cultural harmony and excellent political understanding that has always existed between the two countries”.
In the capital of the country, according to the agenda, the Angolan Head of State will hold a meeting with his counterpart José Maria Neves, at the palace of the Presidency of the Republic, and also planned an intervention in the special session of the Cabo Verdean Parliament, at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly.
