Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sindprof), Lígia Herbert, begins today a three-day official visit to the island of Maio, as part of an agenda focused on proximity and monitoring of the country’s educational conditions, according to Inforpress.
The union leader begins the mission with visits to primary schools and kindergartens in inland areas, accompanied by the Sindprof executive secretariat in Maio.
On Thursday, the 20th, at 9:00 AM, an audience is scheduled with the Mayor of Maio, in the city of Porto Inglês.
The morning continues with visits to educational institutions in the city, allowing for an assessment of the functioning, challenges, and needs of local schools and kindergartens.
The last day of the visit, scheduled for Friday the 21st, includes an institutional audience at 9:00 AM and, subsequently, a review meeting with the union’s executive secretariat on the island.
The work is expected to conclude around 12:00 PM. With this trip, Sindprof aims to strengthen its direct support for education professionals, defend their rights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching conditions on all the islands of the country.
