Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank (IDB), George Agyekum Donkor, is, from Saturday until next Thursday, 11, on an official visit to Cape Verde, to meet with the newly elected president of the Board of Governors of the BIDC, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia.
According to a government note, the president of the BIDC will also fulfill an “important” agenda, with meetings with the highest State entities, visits and meetings with national institutions and visits to some works financed by the institution.
Regarding the Financial Sector, the objective is to present a set of mechanisms and opportunities that the BIDC can make available for the promotion and development agenda of the Cape Verdean private sector.
“The BIDC’s essential objectives are to contribute to the construction of an economically strong, industrialized, prosperous and fully integrated West Africa, both internally and in relation to the global economic system, in order to take advantage of the opportunities and prospects offered by globalization”, underlines the same note.
