Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister have already sent congratulatory messages to the president-elect in Brazil, this Sunday, Luís (Lula) Inácio da Silva, with the hope that relations between the two countries will be strengthened.
“I congratulate Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential elections,” wrote José Maria Neves, on Facebook, moments after the results of the second round of the presidential elections in Brazil, disputed by Jair Bolsonaro (outgoing president) and Lula da Silva, were released.
“I hope we can work together to further strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between Brazil and Cape Verde”, underlined the Cape Verdean head of state.
Likewise, the prime minister, José Ulisses Correia e Silva congratulated Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential elections, hoping to see relations between the two countries strengthened.
“Relations between our countries will be strengthened, as well as at the level of the CPLP, where Brazil plays a very important role”, wrote the chief executive on his official Facebook page.

Lula da Silva was elected this Sunday, in the second round of presidential elections in Brazil, with an advantage of more than two million votes.
Jair Bolsonaro, the outgoing president, won 49.1% of the votes, while Lula da Silva collected 50.9%, thus returning to the presidential chair after 11 years.
