President of the Republic cancels week's agenda and trip to Abidjan

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, canceled his entire agenda for the week, including the trip to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to watch the National Football Team play in the round of 16 of the CAN, following the death this Wednesday fair, in Praia, of the First Lady’s mother, Débora Katisa Carvalho.

In this sense, José Maria Neves will not be present, on Monday, 29th, in the National Football Team game counting for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, as he had decided and announced on Saturday, 20th, a day after Cape Verde’s last game in the group stage.

The Head of State was due to travel on Sunday, 28th, to Abidjan, where, in addition to supporting the Cape Verdean team, he would fulfill other items on his work agenda.

From now on, the President of the Republic predicts a good match and a good performance for the Blue Tubarões, hoping that, against Mauritania, they will be able to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

José Maria Neves urges Cape Verdeans, in the country and in the vast diaspora, to continue supporting and channeling positive energies, both to the Football and Handball Teams.
