Africa-Press – Cape verde. The prices of imported products in Cape Verde increased by 17% in September, comparing the Global Import Index with the same month in 2022, the National Statistics Institute (INE) announced today.
The biggest increases were recorded in fuels (up 40%), parts for transport equipment and processed products for carpentry.
On the downward side, the prices of engines for transport equipment (down 32%), primary food products (intermediate goods) and processed products for industries stand out.
In the same period, the Global Export Index rose 8.3%.
The Terms of Trade Index (quantity of exports that cover imports) fell 7.4%.
The Foreign Trade Price Index (ICE) is an indicator that aims to obtain monthly information on the evolution of trade prices between Cape Verde and the rest of the world.
The data is obtained by INE from administrative records.
