Prime Minister leads Cabo Verdean Delegation at Oceans Conference – Minister of the Sea

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, will lead the delegation to represent Cabo Verde at the Oceans Conference scheduled between June 27 and July 1 in Lisbon, as announced today by the Minister of the Sea.

Abraão Vicente made the announcement to the press in Mindelo on the sidelines of a blue talks held today, with the aim of foreseeing the participation of Small Island States, such as Cabo Verde, at the Oceans Conference organized by Portugal and Kenya next June.

“We are preparing a very great delegation led by the Prime Minister, who will be in Lisbon to reaffirm what would be obvious in an Island State like Cabo Verde,” he said, adding that Cabo Verde will take its 550-year experience from the sea and from institutions working directly with the sea.

Furthermore, he said, Cabo Verde should share its planning related to scientific research linked to living and non-living resources within the Exclusive Economic Zone and also submit the application for extension of the maritime platform.
