The mentor of the Project ” “Mulheres e seus Destinos” today donated 100,000 escudos to the Association for Community Development of Chã das Furnas in Ribeira Grande (Santo Antão), resulting from the sale of the books in the third volume of the anthology ” “Mulheres e seus Destinos” (Women and their Destinies).
The project’s mentor and coordinator, Lena Marçal, said she hoped this donation would provide a “better quality” of life for the local residents, reflected in an improvement in their state of well-being.
“”We would like to thank all the partners and individuals who contributed with the acquisition of copies, which allowed us to fulfil this assumed social responsibility”, she said
Launched on 8 March in the city of Praia, the book contains 97 pieces of prose written by 85 women and 12 by men, and 153 poems, 29 by men and 124 by women.
