Rains/Brava: Responsible for municipal Civil Protection says that rains did not cause damage and appealed to the population’s serenity

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The head of the municipal sector of Civil Protection and Firefighters on the island of Brava, António Lopes, said on Thursday that the rain that fell on the island on Wednesday did not cause any damage and called on the population to remain calm.

Speaking to Inforpress, António Lopes pointed out that after the rain forecast was announced, the team went on alert and made rounds of the locations considered “most critical” at this time of year, but there were no incidents resulting from the rainfall.

According to the same source, the rain that fell during the day and night on Wednesday was “gentle” and very beneficial for plants and farmland and, as more rain is forecast, he asks people to remain calm and, in the event of an emergency, to call on the support of the teams “that are prepared for any eventuality”.

Normally, as I said, they check for falling stones and the obstruction of some roads, following the rains, but, so far, everything is normal and since there are no gusts of wind, no trees have fallen either..
