Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Japanese embassy in Cape Verde will finance the project to improve and rehabilitate agricultural and livestock facilities at Aldeia Infantil SOS Assomada, Santiago. Budgeted at more than 6 thousand contos, the project will benefit 20 families, a total of 173 children and young people, including those with special needs.

The agreement for financing the project between the Japanese embassy in Cape Verde and SOS Children’s Villages was initialed last Friday, between Izawa Osamu, ambassador of that country, and Dionísio Pereira, responsible for the institution.

The project will directly benefit 20 families and 32 caregivers, as well as 173 children and young people, including 18 with special needs.

It aims to contribute to the economic, environmental and food sustainability of the programs of Aldeias Infantils SOS Cabo Verde, through the implementation of agricultural installations, using environmentally friendly means and production techniques, such as hydroponics.
