Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of the Sea will finance, with 272,000 escudos, the 7th edition of the nine-mile crossing by board and rowing on the São Vicente – Santo Antão channel, budgeted at 427,000 escudos. The event takes place on the 5th of August.
According to Inforpress, the financing contract was initialed between the executive manager of the Autonomous Fund for the Development and Security of Maritime Transport ( FADSTM), Cilene Sena Santos, and by the president of Associação Remar, Equilíbrio, Motivação, Eficiência X (REMEX), Anibal Delgado.
This is funding that provides technical and financial support to the initiative, as guaranteed by the Minister of the Sea, on the 14th, when he met with the association’s management.
11 athletes in competition
The 7th edition of the São Vicente – Santo Antão rowing and plank crossing, of nine nautical miles, takes place on the 5th of August , in honor of the pioneering institutions of the race.
This year, the event will bring together 11 athletes who will start from Lajinha beach, towards the finish line at Armazém beach, in the city of Porto Novo.
