Africa-Press – Cape verde. Águas de Santiago, S.A. (AdS) announced today that the work carried out on Avenida Cidade de Lisboa, following a breakdown that affected the water supply in several neighborhoods in Praia, has been completed.
The work included replacing the existing main pipeline with a new DN250 pipeline, as per the established technical plan.
During the construction work, AdS states that additional soil interventions were also necessary to ensure greater stability and durability of the installed infrastructure.
At this time, the installation and testing of the new pipeline are complete, allowing traffic to be restored in the area.
Final asphalt resurfacing, however, remains incomplete and is scheduled for early next week, depending on the availability of bituminous material and the size of the project.
After this phase, work will continue on further compaction of the ground, application of the base course, asphalting, cleaning, and full reopening of the road to traffic.
It is worth mentioning that this situation affects the water supply in several neighborhoods of the capital, among them Dinós, Kelém, Brasil, Meio de ASA, Edifícios, Chã de Areia, Prainha, Gamboa, Fazenda, Plateau, Taíti, Craveiro Lopes Neighborhood, Achadinha, Vila Nova, Calabaceira Baixo, Moinho, Lém Cachorro, Paiol, Castelão, Jamaica, Lém Ferreira, Achada Grande Frente, Várzea, Terra Branca and Luar.
