Africa-Press – Cape verde. The new Political Commission of the Movement for Democracy (MpD), in Ribeira Brava, São Nicolau, intends to create a University of the party to train militants, as announced this Thursday by its president, Alírio Cabral.
The idea of creating the University of the MpD, he said, came in the wake of the electoral program of the new commission, whose objective is to train militants.
“It meets our main concern, which is to form our militancy in Ribeira Brava, open spaces for the formation of politics and citizenship, and a space for meeting to reflect on the island of São Nicolau”, said Alírio Cabral, in statements to Inforpress.
According to the same source, despite the focus on the municipality of Ribeira Brava, the commission is “in line” with the counterpart elected in Tarrafal and thus “promotes” greater dynamics in favor of the MpD.
Formation
The project, as he explained, has two “fundamental” ideas, namely being “permanently” in tune with the bases of the party and civil society and being “constantly” in training. Alírio Cabral also added that the idea was submitted for consideration by the elected Political Assembly and was accepted “unanimously”.
The project to create the University of MpD has already been approved and awaits the phase of materialization of the University that will serve as a space to promote, above all, forums of thought and political debate on São Nicolau.
