The construction of the much-desired health center and a grass football field, the creation of a National Police station and the planning of the Ribeira das Patas watershed are among the main aspirations of the population of this location, according to the association leader, Arlindo Delgado .
Arlindo Delgado told Inforpress today that the construction of the health center, whose first stone was laid in June 2022, is, “without a doubt, the main aspiration” of the approximately three thousand inhabitants of the village of Ribeira das Patas.
In relation to the river basin, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment informed that preparations are being finalized with a view to launching the planning works for this river basin this year 2023.
The delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in the municipality of Porto Novo, Joel Barros, said that, within a short time, the conditions will be met for the launch of this project, awaited with “much expectation” by the farmers of Ribeira das Patas.
Football agents in this region insist on the need for Ribeira das Patas to be provided with a grass football field, remembering that this is “a promise” made by the local authority since 2016.
The mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, assured that the city council’s plans continue to include the requalification of the football field in Coice de Chã, in Ribeira das Patas, but considered that it will be “very difficult” to carry out this project even under this mandate, which ends in 2024.
