At around 08:00, the team had already collected solid waste inside the Presídio square as well as in the nearest streets, Largo Alto São Pedro and almost the entire lower area of the city most frequented during the municipality’s festival period. and the flag of São Filipe.
Inside the Prison at night and as in previous years, the sanitation service made some workers available to collect materials, namely disposable cups, plastic bottles, cans and other materials as the sale of alcoholic or other beverages is “prohibited”. in glass bottles.
In the tents installed inside the Prison, only one brand of beer is allowed to be sold which, within the framework of the partnership agreement with the chamber, has exclusive rights to sell this product and in disposable cups.
One of the team members told Inforpress that all the busiest streets, including Praça do Presídio and Largo Alto São Pedro, two main points of the municipality’s day festivities and the São Filipe flag, were covered.
The garbage collected was in plastic bags just waiting for the collection vehicles to arrive and transport it to an appropriate location, thus leaving the city clean.
In addition to concentrating more team members in the vicinity of the Prison and Alto São Pedro, the management of the sanitation service placed part of its staff in other points, namely in the square and boulevard of Cruz dos Passos, which are very popular these days with children and teenagers with the opening of children’s spaces.
