Africa-Press – Cape verde. The road connecting Cruz de Picos/Boaentradinha/Chão Formoso/Gil Bispo was inaugurated this Saturday, 8th, in the municipalities of Santa Catarina and São Salvador do Mundo. A road that, as expected, will improve mobility, connectivity, the economy and the lives of people in these municipalities of Santiago Norte.
According to the mayor of Santa Catarina, Jassira Monteiro, it is an important moment for both municipalities, and “another step concluded in the policies, not only of the Government, but also of the municipality itself, with regard to to the unblocking of localities”.
“Today, when we take this route, we have a road at the height of any road in the world, a road with quality, which serves the community, promotes tourism and develops the local economy”, underlined the mayor.
Jassira Monteiro believes that the new road will increase people’s self-esteem and a sense of belonging, who now have improved basic conditions to dream big.
For his part, the Salvadoran mayor, Ângelo Vaz, said that, with the delivery of this road, the city council and the Government are fulfilling an old demand of the population, especially Covão Grande, which will now see their lives change.

The prime minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, underlined the “important investment”.
As he said, this new road will allow vehicles and people to circulate with quality, with benefits for drivers and the community, contributing to the development of the economy.
