Africa-Press – Cape verde. The athletes Wilson Cabral and Jessara Xavier, from Santa Catarina, were the winners of the endurance race held on Sunday at the Achada Lém/Assomada route, as part of the May 13th festivities.
The race, which falls into the City Day of Assomada festivities, Santa Catarina, celebrated on May 13, and this year marks the 21 years of elevation to the category of city, had the participation of more than 20 athletes from Santa Catarina and other municipalities of the Santiago Island.
Also in the endurance race 10 kilometers (km), in addition to Wilson Cabral, António Furtado was in second place, Gil in third, followed by Gilson and Paulo, who cut the goal in fifth place.
In the women’s group, Jessara Xavier won the race, followed by Edna (2nd), Adalgisa Varela (3rd), Ana Furtado (4th), Analina (4th) and Marlícia (5th). The first five men’s and women’s runners-up received monetary prizes of 25.000, 15.000, 10.000, 5.000 and 3.000 escudos, respectively.
