Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipal Council of Santa Catarina do Fogo is proceeding today with the act of consigning the work for the construction of the Chã das Caldeiras sports sign with the company that won the competition.
The construction of the Chã das Caldeiras sports board is budgeted at around eight thousand contos, financed by the Santa Catarina city council in partnership with the Government, through the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and should be completed within 110 working days.
The act of consigning the sports plaque takes place on the day that marks the 29th anniversary of the penultimate volcanic eruption, which occurred on April 2, 1995.
Before the consignment of the work for the construction of the Chã das Caldeiras sports board, the president of the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo, Alberto Nunes, signed with another local civil construction company the contract for the construction of Praça de Estância Roque, which represents an investment of approximately six thousand contos.
The construction of Praça de Estância Roque is financed by the Environment Fund, in partnership with the City Council, and in addition to providing a space for socializing and leisure for local inhabitants and visitors, it will give another dimension to the town of Estância Roque.
On Wednesday, 3rd, a socialization meeting is planned for the Chã das Caldeiras electrification project with the population of this location.
Alberto Nunes said that part of the locality already has an energy connection network and that another part is still without a network and that the meeting aims to socialize and discuss aspects linked to the construction of the network for the area not yet covered, but also the issue of participation of beneficiaries in household energy connections.
According to it, everyone will have to contribute and families with level one social registration must contribute as little as possible.
To date, 23 houses are connected to the network, as well as the Chã das Caldeiras educational complex, a recently built Base Health Unit (USB) and the headquarters of the Chã das Caldeiras Tourist Guides Association.
The Chã das Caldeiras electrification project aims to supply energy and its distribution to a total of 200 homes and 11 structures such as schools, restaurants, local production units and social structures.
The Chã electrification project will be hybrid and will combine solar production (25 kw), storage 100 kw Li-Ion/generator 20 kw – global horizontal irradiation around 2027 kWh/m2.
The entire system design was prepared by the German group INENSUS, specialists in Mini – Grid Systems, in partnership with the North American giant SUNPOWER, with more than 80 percent (%) of the energy being produced through renewable sources.
