Africa-Press – Cape verde. The entrance to the City of Assomada (Miradouro de Cruz de Picos), in the municipality of Santa Catarina de Santiago, will have a “new face” with the requalification that begins today. The symbolic act of starting the works, which will provide the entrance to the city with leisure spaces, construction of pedestrian accesses, stairs and ramps, green spaces, restaurants, fitness park, kiosks and a portico at the entrance to the city, takes place today at 3 pm. The execution period is five months.
Financed by the Tourism Fund, the works are budgeted at around 30,995,679 (thirty million, nine hundred and ninety-five thousand, six hundred and seventy-nine escudos), and the execution period is five months.
According to the city council, the intervention “will create a new space for leisure and enhancement of the City of Assomada for residents and visitors”.
The symbolic act counts with the presence of the Mayor Jassira Monteiro, the Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, and the Manager of the Tourism Fund, Manuel Ribeiro.
