Africa-Press – Cape verde. On the 29th of September, the island of Santo Antão hosts an international conference on nature tourism, which will take place under the theme “Green investments as a path to sustainable tourism”.
The conference, according to a press release issued today by the City Council of Porto Novo, is organised by the government, in partnership with the city councils of Santo Antão, and will be a space for “reflection, debate and presentation of nature tourism models” in different contexts and parts of the world, through the sharing of “ideas, experiences and good practices”.
For the Porto Novo council, the conference, which celebrates World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on September 27th, “will undoubtedly be an opportunity to project our island” of Santo Antão.
“The orographic uniqueness of Santo Antão Island, associated with the exuberance of the landscape, offers suitable conditions for the practice of sustainable tourism, which maintains a strong relationship with nature”, reads the note from the municipality.
