Africa-Press – Cape verde. The services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported today that 52 tons of agricultural products from Santo Antão were exported, during the first half of this year, to the tourist markets of Sal and Boa Vista.
Most of these products were exported to the island of Sal, after being treated at the inspection and treatment center for agricultural products in Santo Antão, located on the outskirts of the city of Porto Novo, guaranteed the delegate of this ministry, Joel Barros, noting that there has been an increase in products exported to these islands.
These data demonstrate, according to the same source, that the post-harvest center of Santo Antão continues “to function normally” and to serve the agricultural producers of this island, despite the reservations of the farmers in relation to its location.
Santo Antão will have a new purging centre, which will be installed in the port area, in the city of Porto Novo, in an investment of around 100 million escudos, to be paid by the Port Administration Company (Enapor).
