Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Dez Ilhas monument and the Cross in the Praça and Alameda de Cruz dos Passos have been restored by the artist Domingos Luísa, who was hired by the São Filipe City Council for this purpose.
With the intervention, the municipality, in addition to restoring, ordered the replacement of the municipality’s coat of arms that existed in the monument Dez Ilhas, built in the 90s of the last century in the upper part of the city of São Filipe, as well as the characteristic element of the symbology of the Fogo volcano.
With the restoration, the council intends to enhance the monuments and sites and preserve the history, memory, culture and tradition of the people of the municipality of São Filipe.
In the same space, another monument was erected, honoring tradition and culture, which reflects life, culture and sport, around the traditional celebrations of the Bandeira de São Filipe
