Africa-Press – Cape verde. The São João Baptista football school, in Santo Antão Sul, has trained a total of 1,260 players since its creation in 2004, thus contributing to the development of football in this sporting region and in Cape Verde.
The information was provided to Inforpress today by the coordinator of the São João Baptista football school, Amílcar Napoleão, who informed that, after a year of interruption, this sports initiation school is ready to resume activities at different levels.
Amílcar Napoleão, who was recently honored by the sports association Porto Novo Basket, for his contribution to sport in Santos for decades, said that this school has everything in place to restart training, starting this Saturday, 4th.
Created in 2004 and made official in 2005, the São João Baptista football school has “dozens” of athletes from under-10 to under-17 levels, and in 2015, during a sports gala, it was highlighted by the City Council do Porto Novo, for its action in favor of sport in this municipality.
There are close to a dozen football schools in the Santo Antão Sul sports region, notably the São João Baptista, Rildo Tavares, Fiorentina, Dminguim and Academia de Futebol schools.
