Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipality of Tarrafal de São Nicolau launched the project for the electrification of the Cacimba area, as part of the program for the 18th anniversary of the municipality, which is celebrated on August 2nd.
Speaking to the press, the mayor of Tarrafal, José Freitas, stated that the objective is to provide this expansion area of the city of Tarrafal with electricity. “a basic necessity” in current times.
The project, he said, is the result of a partnership with the public electricity generation and distribution company (Electra) and is budgeted at “more than five thousand escudos”.
Of this amount, the municipality contributes with the placement of all the poles and Electra with the creation of the electricity network.
