Africa-Press – Cape verde. The City Hall of Ribeira Brava began the 4th edition of the event “Em Abril, livros mil” (In April, thousands of books), in the context of the Culture portfolio activities, an initiative aimed at promoting reading, according to Councilwoman Maria Silva.
It is an event that, according to the same source, in addition to promoting reading and the book, is “especially” dedicated to the personality of Baltazar Lopes da Silva, “one of the maximum exponents” of Cabo Verde literature.
The Councilwoman of Culture in the City Hall of Ribeira Brava said that several activities will also be carried out, such as book fair, children’s reading, launch and presentation of books and workshops, among others.
The goal, she pointed out, is to promote the book, namely with the book fair which will bring several titles to provide the purchase, an opportunity that generally is not available in the municipality.
