Africa-Press – Cape verde. The poor electricity distribution in the locality of Carriçal, São Nicolau island, has caused several constraints to the local population, especially in terms of fish conservation, Inforpress reported today.
The information was provided by the vice president of the local community association, Manuel do Rosário, who said that the existing solar park in this locality no longer responds to the community’s consumption demand.
“There is a need to expand the solar field with more batteries and more solar panels and even think about other alternatives for energy production, such as wind, taking into account that the current one is no longer enough”, he said.
As he reported, on sunny days, when the batteries are able to recharge normally, the population has energy from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and from 7:30 pm to around 11:00 pm.
