Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ombudsman, José Carlos Delgado, highlighted Monday the need to pay more attention to the issue of transport to and from the island of São Nicolau, both at the air and at sea level.
The Ombudsman expressed this concern to the press, on the sidelines of a meeting he had with local associations, economic operators and the population of the municipality of Tarrafal.
According to the official, there is a lot of unpredictability in terms of transport, mainly maritime, which prevents people from “organizing their lives in the best way”.
“This is an issue that we are going to discuss with ETE, the maritime transport concessionaire in the country, which sent a representative here to listen to people’s concerns,” he said.
However, he stated that as soon as he returns to the city of Praia, he will schedule a meeting with representatives of the company “and ask questions raised from the island of São Nicolau”.
