Africa-Press – Cape verde. The militant Adilson Graça Jesus was elected on Sunday the president of the Regional Political Commission of the African Independence Party of Cape Verde (PAICV), in São Vicente.
According to the president of the Regional Commission of Jurisdiction and Supervision, Roberto Ramos, who accompanied the voting process, 935 militants voted.
He announced that Adilson Graça Jesus was elected with 686 votes, which is about 73.4 percent (%), while the other candidate Jean Emmanuel da Cruz had 239 votes, which is about 25.6 % of the votes.
Asked how the voting process proceeded, Roberto Ramos said that “the most common issue, at all polling station, was the fact that the electoral roll, sent by the National Secretariat in Praia, was not up-to-date, which made many militants, with membership dues, could not exercise their right to vote”.
