Africa-Press – Cape verde. The “Other Neighborhoods” initiative, developed in the Alto Bomba district of São Vicente, is among the 20 finalists of the Aga Khan Architecture Award 2022 in Switzerland.
According to a note from the project’s technical team sent to Inforpress, the election of this project to the list of 20 finalists takes place after the appointment, in June 2021, among 563 projects selected worldwide.
According to the same source, the award, which is awarded by the Swiss Foundation in three cycles, of three years, is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the world, in recognition of examples of architectural excellence.
It aims to recognize areas of contemporary design, social housing, community improvement and development, historical preservation, reuse and conservation of areas, as well as landscape design and environmental improvement.
