Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Mindelo Oceanographic Center hosts an itinerant exhibition on cetaceans – whales, dolphins and porpoises – developed within the framework of MARCET ll, which aims to promote the conservation of cetacean populations residing in Macaronesia.
This is, according to the organization, an objective that is also the fundamental basis for the sustainable development of the maritime-tourist activity of whale watching, both from an ecological and economic point of view.
The exhibition, which will be open until the 10th of August, also reflects, according to the same source, the secular relationship between Cabo Verde and whaling, that is, whaling.
The organisation states that the exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 16:00, by appointment through the page of Institute of Sea on the social network Facebook.
